BTS Takes The World By Storm As ‘Love Yourself: Tear’ Enters The Billboard 200
BTS is setting record after record!
Billboard release the latest news that BTS’s latest album, Love Yourself: Tear jumped to the top of the Billboard 200 chart at rank number 1 for the week ending in June 2. This is a definite first for the K-Pop world. Previously, the highest ranking K-Pop group was BTS with their last album, Love Yourself: Her that reached rank number 7 on the chart.
The Billboard 200 takes all of the most popular albums in the United States each week and combines a total of their sales. The metrics include traditional album sales, TEA (track equivalent albums), and SEA (streaming equivalent albums).
Based on the numbers, BTS definitely earned that spot. At the end of May 24’s week, the group had 135,000 album sales, with 100,000 of that being traditional album sales.
This isn’t the first record broken by this album, with BTS breaking records around the world and in Korea for the most pre-orders and highest number of K-Pop albums sold. The group also achieved their first ever perfect all-kill with the track. The group continued on with their ARMY by setting the record for the highest views on a K-Pop video within 24 hours and brought “Fake Love” to the 3rd highest music video views within 24 hours.
Congratulations to BTS and ARMY for the amazing achievement!
