BTS’s original version of “Blood Sweat & Tears” caught a lot of attention when it was released, and the Japanese music video seems like it’ll be no different! The entire video feels like a colorful acid trip. Scenes from the original music video are incorporated into the new Japanese version, but the video as a whole is far more dark in nature. From Jungkook throwing up the drink that Rap Monster forced upon him to the fight scene with V, there’s far more serious themes addressed in this video than the original.
The video ends with interaction in the ‘real world’ between Rap Monster, who served as a sort of instigator for a lot of the interactions in the video, and Jin, who we saw with a hole where his heart should be;
Rap Monster: “Oh, Jin”
Jin: “It’s been a while”
