Def Jam Records is an American record label with a heavy focus on hip-hop.  They’re currently owned by Universal Music Group and have a variety of artists under their belt, including; Iggy Azalea, Kanye West, Jeezy, Desiigner, Rhianna, and others.

It appears that BTS has just signed with their Japanese branch, which means that while Big Hit Entertainment will be managing their promotional activities, the Japanese activities will be handled by Def Jam Records.

The label is happy to have the boys and stated:

“We are thrilled to welcome BTS to the Def Jam family. It’s remarkable how they have established a strong career in such a short period of time, and we wish them more successes in the years to come.”

We’ve seen quite a few Japanese versions of BTS songs before, but we can expect their latest, “Blood Sweat & Tears” on May 10, 2017.  This single release will be done in the standard formatting of Japanese pop releases, with a CD and DVD option.

The boys will be in Osaka, Japan on May 30, 2017, so it’s perfect that their single will be released early in the month!
