KBS will be hosting an idol reboot project to give idols a second chance.  The show was announced earlier this year and many were interested in who would participate.  The “Idol Rebooting Project: The Unit”, often just shortened to “The Unit”, gives idols a fair chance to demonstrate their talent and show off skills that they may not have had a chance or audience for before.

The show will begin airing on October 28, and will run for a total of 14 episodes.  Applications opened on August 2, 2017, and since then there have been over 500 applicants reported.

“The Unit” isn’t just a fancy name, it actually stands for “a combination (T or +) you (U) and (N) I (I) create”.

The overall goal of the project is to create two 10 member groups, one male and one female, to give them a chance to garner attention and ‘reboot’ themselves.
