OSKP’s Jord’i’s Top 10 Favorite K-Pop Songs!
I’m not going to pretend this wasn’t the most challenging post I’ve ever had to create. That being said, these are the songs I kept falling back to when I was making this list and are by no means the only K-pop songs that I love.
Now let’s jump into it!
10. “I Like That” – SISTAR (씨스타)
Listen, I adored these girls. I was honestly heartbroken when they disbanded. However, that isn’t going to stop me from continuing to get down to this song. I love the sound of this song. All in all the beat, the catchy lyrics, the vocals, the super sexy dance. Everything about this song, I’m here for it all.
9. “AHH OOP!” – Mamamoo (마마무) & eSNa (에스나)
I think there might be a pattern here. Clearly, I adore strong, beautiful, and talented women. I mean who wouldn’t right? This M/V is honestly so much fun to watch, not to mention the song itself. I love the beat, but not nearly as much as I love those vocals! This is definitely one of those songs I’ll still be listening to in twenty years!
8. “Shangri-la” – Vixx (빅스)
This one doesn’t really need that much explaination in my opinion. This is such a beautiful song, video, dance, and group in general. It’s really just a stunning piece of art. I have a very special place in my heart for these handsome guys! This is by no means the only Vixx song that I love to a ridiculous degree, but it is definitely my number one!
7. “Perfect Girl” – Monsta X (몬스타엑스)
I seriously love, love, love Monsta X. This song has been my favorite since day one. I love the sound of it, and I especially love this adorable self-cam M/V the boys made! I can’t even begin to list all of the Monsta X songs that I adore, but this one will always be at the top for me!
6. “I Loved You” – Day6
Okay, let me be completely honest with you. This song is an absolute masterpiece. Day6 has truly outdone themselves with this one. The vocals are incredibly powerful, starting soft and slow and gaining momentum as the song wears on. You can feel the music in your soul with this one. Day6 is truly a force to be reckoned with, and I love everything they do, but this song really sealed the deal for me. I love it.
5. “View” – SHINee (샤이니)
Does this even need explaining? I don’t know anyone who doesn’t love this song! It’s just so much fun and so so catchy! Not to mention the video for it is honestly amazing. It makes me really want to call all of my friends and have a massive dance party.
4. “Toy” – Block B (블락비)
This is far from the only Block B song that I love wholeheartedly. I love the vocals and the overall concept of the track. I honestly enjoy the rappers in the group so much as well. Overall I love the entire song. I also enjoy the video a lot too, it’s visually enticing and fits the song well. I’ve basically just listened to this song on repeat since it came out last year. (Followed closely by their latest release “Shall We Dance“).
3. “Don’t Wanna Cry” (울고 싶지 않아) – Seventeen (세븐틴)
I have followed Seventeen pretty closely since just before their debut. I have enjoyed watching them grow and improve in the time since then. So many of their songs have made their way into my heart, but when they released this song it just stole my breath away. This is absolutely one of my all-time favorite K-pop songs ever. I love the vocals so wholly I can’t even explain it, not to mention the absolutely insane choreography. I was truly blown away, and continue to be every single time I watch this video. 10/10 would recommend.
2. “Call Me Baby” – EXO (엑소)
So, of course, I must include the song that started it all for me! I found K-pop back in 2015 thanks to this song! Well, the song and Minseok (the Original Ultimate Bias). This song is super catchy and fun, and the dance is entertaining to watch. I actually really love EXO in general. Like a lot. They hold such a huge piece of my heart, as do pretty much every single one of their songs. It was a pretty hard debate deciding which song of theirs to include on this list. Ultimately it felt appropriate to add the song that got me into the genre in the first place.
1. “Save Me” – BTS (방탄소년단)
I had a really really difficult time choosing this final song. My absolute favorite song of all of K-Pop. BTS is a group that means so so so much to me. I agonized over this choice a little, but ultimately I decided that “Save Me” would be the one. That being said, it should be known that there is not one single BTS song that I do not love with my entire being. This song is just beautiful, BTS are vocal and rap kings and displayed that so well with this song. I also really love the music video and think it’s gorgeous. “Save Me” is such an amazing song. If you haven’t had the pleasure of listening to it, please do. You’ll love it, that’s a guarantee!
