Welcome back to the fan art section of One Stop K-Pop, where we feature amazing artists of all mediums. Our previous artist took us step by step through their creation process of a wonder BTS V piece. Today, we’re looking at Sunshinecrashart, who does all sorts of different genres and has recently delved into K-Pop fanart.
The first few pieces they did in K-Pop were Got7’s Yugyeom and BTS’s V. Yugyeom is captured beautifully, with definite emphasis on his lips and his hair, which are often what people notice first when they look at him. The colors are pretty neutral overall, with the exception of his beautiful gold eyes and the lip coloring.
The gold eyes are also present in the black and white-ish digital art of BTS’s V.
They’ve also switched up their style a bit with their new sketchbook and are now doing red shading with their images and vibrant white highlights. One of the things that stood out most, and really made these pieces pop was the white touch. The teeth, eyes, and outline being done in a vibrant white gives the drawing so much dimension and character and sets it apart from the normal flat color of the paper.
The white also helps create a sort of dew look on the nose, cheeks and lips. It’s not something you see often in more realistic looking pictures, but it actually makes it feel like a realistic-cartoon hybrid and looks absolutely incredible.
Be sure to leave them some love on their Instagram!
